When Final Fantasy VII director Yoshinori Kitase said a remake would be his "life's work" and he'd "love to do it," classic RPG fans everywhere once again began to salivate.
Yeah, sorry, we couldn't help it.
However, as for why the project has never happened, Kitase cited many of the same reasons we've been hearing for over a decade. Perhaps that's why, according to the results of our latest poll, most of our readers say they'd like to see a remake, but it'll probably never happen. A very large portion said "no chance," but another sizable group opted for shining optimism: "Yes! It will be Kitase's final glory." No idea when or if it'll happen; just keep crossing those fingers.
This week, we want your take on the recently released Castlevania: Lords of Shadow 2 . It didn't receive an overly favorable response from critics (basically averages a low-to-mid 6) but there are many who oppose such an average reception. Do you think the game is better than the scores? Or do you agree that it was a significant disappointment?
I wanted a FF 7 MMO. 🙁
A world full of Shinra quests and materia farming, wowz.
get over it!
no, seriously, just get over it!
honestly if i had a nickel for every single 7 remake story i read, jesus f*cking christ, there is not enough nickels in the UNIVERSE to pay up for that!
JUST GET OVER IT ITS NEVER GOING TO HAPPEN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
as for CLOS 2, f*cking oath it did, but dosnt every game?
well, unless your name is COD of course………
Amen to this. I'm sick and tired of FF7 and it's remake articles. Can people just get over it's sad story? Let's focus on new stories and new IPs. Let's not make this generation about old games. Sheeesh!

You can't control what happens in the industry, it's something that comes up a lot.
It will never go away as long as SE continues to tease it every 3 years.
They did the PS3 tech demo… a few years later, they ask on twitter if people actually would want a remake and their twitter page explodes… like literally… it crashed. Then now, Kitase, although he said it's not in the pipes at all right now, said he would love to be able to do that.
It really shouldn't be that difficult for you gents to understand why this sentiment hasn't and will not die.
Let's all be honest.
If Squeenix announced at E3 this year a 100% next-gen FF7 was coming out next year, and it was basically the same as the original with a few nice additions and amazing graphics… you would all wet yourselves.
I know I would.
My point is, everyone wants it, whether you admit it or not, you want it, at SOME point there will be something new in the FF7 world, and when that does happen, everyone will love it and forget about all their whining.
Also for arguments sake, COD doesn't get good scores, the past 4 or so COD games averaged around 80 on metacritic. COD's success is 100% nothing to do with critics.

Wait just a damn minute!! I voted on the poll of castlevania a couple hours ago and it was starting from top-25%Yes, the game is great! 30%Well, the game is better than they say. 25%Not really; it's just not that good. 0%No, the game is a big disappointment. Now its 11% 30% 44% 15% How did the top answer Yes, the game is great! go from 25% to 11%?????? polls cant lose votes. Ben you got an answer or David you got an answer???!!!
The real mystery is, how did the first instance of percentages not add to 100… was probably output bug.
To your question, polls Do acquire votes. I don't quite understand your concern Grand :oD
Since it's a percentage of the whole nobodies votes are being lost they just get recalculated as a percentage while more votes are added in. So if a bunch of people pick option 3 then the percentage of the whole in option 1 will go down unless it gets enough votes to keep up.
It's percentage. Not total votes…
Nothing lost votes….
I almost don't click here it's just depressing read those FF7 remake articles, CLOS2 it's a decent game, it deserves to be rated no less than 7.0 and no more than 8.0 imo, liked more the first game I welcome all the new stuff they add in sequels but LOS2 didn't need that much change and I feel it would be better without it!.

People need to give up all hope on a FF7 remake really!
