How's your Valentine's weekend going? Not great? Want to feel a little better about life in general?
Check out the story posted at the official BioWare Blog ; it's about how Mass Effect 3 was a surprising catalyst for a seemingly fated union.
It started with Jameela, who received an invitation to play Mass Effect 3 online with a couple friends, Sean and Estevan. She wasn't really feeling up to it, but she ultimately decided to play. After a few matches, a mutual friend of the boys, Tyler, joined the action. Jameela said she was "really quiet at first," but Tyler had no problem chatting about the deep, interesting world of Mass Effect .
At some point, he joked that the two of them had nothing better to do on a Friday night. Then he added: "Man, we are, like, undateable." Jameela immediately liked his sense of humor. Afterward, Estevan noticed there may have been some chemistry brewing between Tyler and Jameela, so he decided to play the matchmaker. He encouraged the two to connect on Facebook, and he sent each glowing praise about the other via text.
Jameela made the first move…virtually, of course: She was always the first to revive Tyler's character when he fell in combat. Finally, the two met. It didn't take long for them to realize they definitely wanted to be together but unfortunately, they had to contend with a major stumbling block. Tyler lived 2,000 miles away. But the good news is that he was planning to move back to the Michigan area, which wasn't as far from Jameela's hometown of Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
The two stayed close by texting, chatting on Skype and – what else? – playing co-op games. Eventually, Tyler proposed to Jameela on June 22, 2012, and the wedding was set for October 26. Yep, it's a modern-day love story with a video game at its core…how cool is that?

Valentines day is for children, but it's nice to see any two people come together and be happy.
Wasn't this violent game supposed to make them evil heartless haters though?
Heh…well, not sure Mass Effect 3 qualifies as a "violent game." I guess it does, but it's not gory human-on-human violence. It's stylized, sci-fi, often human-on-mutant violence, which is more cartoon-y as a rule.
Is it? every girlfriend/wife I've ever met has always expected at the very least flowers on Valentines day from their significant other.
Women know they can use the events of that day as a relationship barometer, it's a test for them with the benefit of a gift. Which are all childish games left over from our days in Elementary School and Junior High.
Not all women act like that, I have to say.
That's a dramatic view Dave. Those aren't women, those are girls. Unfortunately there's a lot of girls.. and a stupid amount of Old girls.
Luckily mine doesn't expect flowers, only to spend time. Persona 4 has their spend-time-friends mechanic on lock 😀
Sure, not every woman. I'm just saying that the day tends to wind up a pressure point because it can cause a resurgence of these kind of childish Disney ideas about what love is. There's a desire to get back to that fake movie style relationship that has no basis in real adult life relationships.
Valentine's day is commercialized just like every other holiday. I must say world, your comment is almost to the point of bitterness. Women dig it because it romantizes their life. That isn't a bad thing. That's how most women relieve stress, we do it with video games. They imagine themselves in a movie.. Give her her day bro

Am I going to come off as a cynical, loveless bastard for pointing out that seems a bit too short of a relationship to get married? I mean if they met over ME3 it can't have been before march 2012, which means he proposed 3 months after meeting her.

If she's as smart and kind as she is beautiful then I can't fault him for wanting to seal the deal as quickly as possible.
yeah well it might be like that but it turns out that it was rather abrupt for my parents and 25ish(i think its 24 or 25) year later they still going strong. i cud be okay i wish them all the best hope it last. and trust me when i say i have heard of even more abrupt timings to marriage than this even and it's still going strong after 30 years or so. so i guess its still really down to them keeping it going so again i wish them all the best

This was a nice story, until it turned from a story about gamers into people uniting on Facebook… then it just turned into every other form of communication in our age. It's sad that our society seems dependent on it.
