These days, just about every high-profile game release has a Collector's Edition of some kind, but you can't hope to own 'em all. If you had to pick just one special edition to own in 2014, which would it be? This is assuming the game in question launches this year, of course.
Even though it could very well end up being Uncharted 4 for me, I'll currently have to go with inFamous: Second Son . I don't even know if there will be a special edition but if there is, I want it. I'd think about a Collector's set for Thief and possibly The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt (if I concluded I'd even have time), but inFamous is the one game that stands out for me. I don't really care about Destiny and we don't really know much about the holiday lineup just yet.
I will say that if the Final Fantasy X/X-2 HD Remaster had a special edition of some sort, I'd have to spring for that. I'd have to celebrate a time long gone and if it had to be done with my wallet, so be it. Maybe it would send a little message to Square Enix, you know?
The Witcher 3, one of the best RPG series I've ever had the pleasure of playing. I've loved the first two on PC and I'm looking forward to playing the third on the PS4. I hope you all check it out too. CD Projekt deserves your money unlike some other companies.
yeah that game is looking sexy, as a PC hater I have no idea what I'll be getting into but I'm up for it.
Mine is Final Fantasy X/X-2 if you pre-order you get the special edition for the same cost.
If that doesn't count it would probably be The Order, especially if it had some awesome old timey sh*t with it.
inFamous 2 so far has been the only actual above cost Collectors Edition I've ever bought. It was pretty badass too.

Final Fantasy X HD. I already have it, along with Dark Souls 2, and will get Kingdom Hearts 2 if it has one. But if only one certainly FFXHD.
I'm with World on this and say The Order, unless Final Fantasy XV or Kingdom Hearts 3 releases this year.
Symphonia Chronicles. Of course, even money weren't an issue I'd be a little late for that one.
Also, FFX HD technically has a special edition for those of us that pre-ordered.
Second Son. I want that hat.
Or, perhaps COD, since it comes with the season pass…
If any of the games on my radar offer a collector's edition that includes artbook pakaging like the Definitive Edition of TombRaider, that's the one I'll get.
Xillia 2. I've already got a bunch coming my way but I'd choose that above all others if it gets one.
Kingdom Come: Deliverance
The greatest collectors edition would be an all Sega rpg and strategy rpg from every system they made on one compilation. Sega master system. Sega genesis. Sega Saturn and of course the dreamcast.
I would pay 150 bucks for this. 🙂

infamous collectors edition didnt look that appealing to me. a beanie and some badges… meh. i did see the lightning returns collectors edition unboxing and i liked it. case looks great and the pocket watch looks nice. too bad its tied to a crappy game so i wont be buying it.

If the new batman game were to be released this year 2014, I probably would have to go with that collector's edition. The arkham city statue was pretty sweet. Oh well…
Not anymore for me, but I would like to see collections of GOTY editions at the end of a games run with all the content in one package at a reasonable price. To get the full experience that was originally intended for the game.

I can never justify spending more on a game for a bunch of stuff I don't need or have space for. But maybe Alien: Isolation will come with some sweet swag in the special edition? That might pique my interest…
Infamous: Second son or Dying Light
Would be Infamous 3 if there collector's edition wasn't so pathetic. Infamous 2 came with a backpack and a statue, 3 only has a beanie and some buttons for the same price. Kind of an epic fail if you ask me.
