It was one of the first must-have titles for the PS2 and certainly the first great platformer; Jak and Daxter was a smash hit and the cocky, wisecracking heroes soon became recognizable heroes. The pair split ways to star in their own games, but could the two be reuniting on the PS3 this Christmas?
Sony has already talked about their plans to win Christmas , and of course, that includes releasing plenty of big-name games. However, another part of that CRN interview with SCEE representative, Jonathan Fargher, has created a pretty big rumor:
"Titles due to hit the shelves in the Christmas run-up include the latest installment of favourites such as Grand Theft Auto, Metal Gear Solid, Ratchet and Clank, Crash Bandicoot and Jak and Daxter, he added."
Well, we were certainly aware of all those, except the last one. Does anyone remember the announcement of a new Jak and Daxter for the PS3? Because we sure don't. Perhaps Fargher let a little something slip, here, or perhaps it was merely a mistake. But it'd be great to have both Ratchet and Clank and Jak and Daxter return in time for the holidays; it'd be like the early years of the PS2 all over again!
We'll let you know if Sony comes out and confirms this project, or if Fargher just made an error. Hey, it could be one of those "Christmas treats" he was talking about…
