The Last Of Us isn’t done winning awards.
The Academy of Interactive Arts & Sciences has announced the nominees for the 17th annual D.I.C.E. Awards and Naughty Dog’s gem leads the pack with no fewer than 13 nods.
You can check out the full list if you wish, but for the record, TLoU received nominations for Outstanding Achievement in Sound Design, Outstanding Achievement in Story, Outstanding Innovation in Gaming, Adventure Game of the Year, Online Game of the Year, Outstanding Achievement in Animation, Outstanding Achievement in Visual Engineering, Outstanding Achievement in Gameplay Engineering, Outstanding Achievement in Game Direction, and two for Outstanding Character Performance (Joel and Ellie).
Naughty Dog responded to the accolades by saying on Twitter :
“Floored and deeply honored that The Last of Us has been nominated for 13 awards this year. So exciting.”
Other Game of the Year nominees: Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag , Bioshock Infinite , Grand Theft Auto V and The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds . The nominated titles were chosen by the Academy’s Peers Panel and now, the 22,000+ members will decide the winners. Additionally, the Academy will honor Defender and Robotron: 2084 designer Eugene Jarvis with the prestigious Pioneer Award.
The D.I.C.E. Awards will be held on Thursday, February 6 at one of the best US casinos in the area, the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas.
Not everything has to be focused on machismo and shootemup bang bang.
I'm very curious how Borderlands 2 landed on the best online mp list. Not be a use it doesn't deserve it because it's the very best coop game out there, but this must be for the dlc. Borderlands 2 released in 2012. I'm also happy to see Diablo 3 get some recognition for its online mp because it implemented it very well.
The very best coop game? Actually yes, I can agree with that. It probably is.
