Love it when highly creative titles do well!
Thomas Was Alone has won plenty of awards since its initial unveiling, and that has undoubtedly helped it reach a sales milestone: According to what the game's creator, Mike Bithell, told Joystiq , the quirky IP has sold over 700,000 units.
This includes figures from the PC, Mac, Linux, PS3 and Vita, and it doesn't count copies obtained via PlayStation Plus for free. And that number is pretty darn impressive, especially considering that it's basically a game about rectangles. …okay, that isn't fair at all, but you get my point. Bithell's new game is called Volume and supposedly blends Metal Gear Solid with user-generated content. It will include a "very strong authored story," which ought to entice a lot of people.
Have you played Thomas Was Alone yet? Do you think it deserves the sales success it has received? Most critics really seemed to love it.
