Guitar Hero and Rock Band never really taught you how to play a guitar.
But Rocksmith , on the other hand, was a completely different beast. And the good news is that the developers will really amp things up with the sequel.
As posted at the Ubiblog , we learn more about Rocksmith 2014 's Lesson Mode, which will not only pinpoint your mistakes, it'll tell you why you made those mistakes, and offer advice on how to fix 'em. The first title informed players when they messed up, but the new entry will explain precisely what happened. If you're not fully grasping a new concept, the game will actually "pull you out of the interactive portion of the lesson and give you further instructions – this time with additional camera angles and tips." Pay attention!
The post also claims that Rocksmith 2014 will offer triple the amount of lessons, and these will include prep stuff like tuning a guitar and more advanced techniques, such as tapping notes. The latest effort will release for the PS3, Xbox 360 and PC in October and a pre-order will net you a bonus track; "Cherub Rock" by The Smashing Pumpkins. So, do you just want to play a video game, or do you really want to learn?

This is so awesome. I really want to get it. I want to learn how to play Johny Be Good! lol (prolly not hard but ever since I watched back to the future I want to learn guitar to play this song haha)
Haha! That is sooo funny. That is the exact time I wanted to play too.
Those movies are classics.
Though B2theF was an influence, for me it was The movie Crossroads that got me wanting to learn how to play the guitar.
Awesome. I play guitar, but I could certainly improve my skill level. Was going to get the original, but I think I'll just wait for this.
I hope that the purchased songs from the first will transfer over into the new one. I've spent too much money to simply "upgrade for better lessons"
But I'll be getting it regardless. Hated GH and RB. Love Rocksmith! It's a great teacher of the basics!
I got one problem with Rocksmith, one problem only: The lag from when I pick the string to the sound is heard. That lag is almost tearing me apart in annoyance. It's just a fragment of a second but it completely distracts me.
But if you manage to ignore that, Rocksmith is one hell of a package. It pleases me to no end to see such "serious" niche software gaining a sequel. Ubisoft can't possibly earn much on this title, relatively speaking. Only more creds to them!
I hope they improve the calibration and make it more like rockband or guitar hero

Something like this would have prevented all my frustration issues with the lag.
If they can get this on the ps4 (since my ps3 finally died) then I'll get it day one! The original was tons of fun and my skills definitely increased from the little time I played!
