Rainbow Skies Set For PS3/Vita, Pleases RPG Fans In 2014

Woo-hoo!

Rainbow Moon was a godsend for old-school strategy/RPG lovers, and those fans are about to smile. Maybe even cry.

Indie game publisher and developer eastasiasoft and development partner SideQuest Studios have announced that the sequel, Rainbow Skies , will be an exclusive release for the PlayStation Network in 2014. The game will be playable on the PS3 and Vita, and it will feature cross-play support! This means you can play on the PS3 and then, after leaving the house, you can keep playing on Sony's new portable.

Said SideQuest CEO Marcus Pukropski:

"We have enjoyed great support and success on the PlayStation®3 system in the past and are happy to bring our latest development to the PlayStation® family in 2014. Rainbow Skies combines lots of fan feedback with our own vision and will be an awesome mix of old meets new. We are looking forward to showing gamers more of Rainbow Skies in the months to come."

The fresh effort will feature a new and vibrant world, loaded with intimidating dungeons, strategic turn-based battles, towns, shops, "and everything else your role-playing heart desires." You can also expect tamable monsters, upgradable and customizable characters, and a ton of new items and equipment. There's even a huge amount of optional endgame content, side and treasure hunt quests, and an all-new main story. Lastly, we can experience a "technically perfect game engine that runs at 60 fps with little to no load times." Talk about streamlined!

Man, it's like a veteran RPG fan's dream come true.

I'm glad they did well but I couldn't hang with it, so I'm looking forward to Soul Saga.

It took effort to get past the early goings of Rainbow Moon but payed off when you finally did.

It sounds like they're making some nice improvements! (I just hope the "monster-taming" isn't taken overboard- make it optional please!)

Yeah true but I loved the pace of the 2nd half have the game. Made it feel like it was a different game.
