Cool. The year's best game just got a little better.
Naughty Dog has issued the latest update for The Last Of Us ; the details of version 1.02 can be found at the developer's official website .
The patch changes the "texture of a phone number on a bulletin board," which doesn't sound significant unless you've been reading recent news headlines. It seems the team accidentally put a real sex hotline number on a bulletin board in the single-player campaign. So, that has been fixed with this update, and they've made numerous multiplayer tweaks as well. Improved host migration, alterations to the camera, fixes for occasional connectivity problems and crashing, etc. If you haven't played the multiplayer just yet, we strongly recommend it. It's quite refreshing and it can be quite the satisfying experience.
Now we just want that DLC that expands on the story. Bring it on!

I wish one could have the option to download the updates for games before you purchased them. That way it would be ready to go when you pop that bad boy in. PS4 Sony. Make it happen.
I know you can play games that are still downloading, I wonder if they could somehow use that for the updates as well?
But I don't know, I'm not sure how that would work for updates.
To me the dumbest thing about updates on the PS3 is that they for some insane reason decided to force you to stare at the screen while you're downloading a 500gb update, by disabling background downloading of updates…
That really is the most bizarre annoyance on the PS3 to me… If they don't want you to start the game before updating the game, why not at least let us download the update in the background while we can play a DIFFERENT game, or do something else..
wait a minute…is there really going to be DLC for the story?!? please tell me its true, i want more of this game
Yes!
What kind of crazy people actually call the phone numbers in games anyway?
maybe he/she recognized from experience
That would mean Cliffy B was playing The Last of Us.
Ultra nerds is my guess? Lol, I didn't even know about these numbers until I was forced to download the patch and decided to check out what it was for. Then moments later I found the billboad that had the numbers. All they did was slash some dirt over the last 4 digits to cover them up.
I hadn't heard about the sex line but it's kind of funny that this sort of thing slipped in. There was another small controversy where they had used an unofficial (but copyrighted) transit map of the Boston metro without clearing rights first. That little matter has apparently been resolved.

yeah, "accidentally"
Let's hope Fox doesn't catch wind of this.
Dude… What LoU online have you been playing? It's nothing but a frustrating ball of crap. The single player is Second to None, but I've said this twice before. Naughty Dog should stick to single player campaigns, because damn they suck at PVP. Maybey some co op missions might be cool. But stop trying with multi player, you suck at it.
They would all be executed if it wasn't at least available.
Well thats an opinion anyways. Uncharted 2 and 3 have some of the best mp. What they did was refreshing.
I havnt llayed the mp in TLoU but all I hear is good things. Cant imagine it would be as terrible as you make it sound.
I never got into it, but I'm fairly sure Uncharted 2+3's multiplayer is well respected.
Well, I don't like having to shoot a guy in the head more than once. Every weapon feel like it does the same amount of damage. Granted, I do like the sneaky collecting that the MP brings. Gives me a feeling of "busyness" but I also don't like having to take my thumb off the left analog to switch weapons because the 7 bullets they give me weren't enough to kill that guy that's attacking me. Oh what's this? I had to stop moving to switch? And now he shoots me 2 times with a pistol and I'm down? Even though I had armour and full health? But my Semi Auto rifle doesn't kill him… Ya great game NOT! Nah It's bullplop and the mp leaves much to be desired.
No DLC that expands on the story. Id be pissed if that happened and if its been announced and I dont know it Ill be even more frustrated. They are telling a story here and I want to experience it with my original purchase and how they intendedus to eexperience it. Not through some add on.
They announced DLC for the sp awhile go. They've hinted it won't be around Joel and Ellie though. So I'm guessing well see someone else's perspective. Perhaps Ish's story? That would be awesome.
I suppose that would be neat. Couldnt think of a better character, that part of the game was really fascinating.
As long as its not Joel and Ellie I can be ok with it, ha.
@Jawknee, my money is definitely on the Ish story. I and many others were furiously scrubbing the terrain to make sure we never missed an Ish note, and his notes end on such an open-ended note that there could be any number of things that happen next. Plus, all or nearly all of his story apparently took place in the same areas as Joel and Ellie's, so it's nto like Naughty Dog would need to render entirely new environments for him.
Man, just occurred to me how AWESOME it would be to start on a boat and eventually reach the shore 🙂
yeah……. "accidentally"……
someone loves their work just a little TOO much!
Y'know I SAW that phone number and I ALMOST called it — it was so prominent and easy to read I figured it would be a cool in-game tie-in or something. But I think my phone was in the other room so I forgot about it. Hahahaha, that's pretty funny, you'd think they'd check things like that before they ship 🙂
The mp is actually a lot of fun and it's almost identical to the single player game play wise. You have that sense of not knowing what coming and it keeps you on the edge of your seat the whole time. Balancing is pretty awesome and the mp portion definitely deserves some credit. Great game!!! One of my all time favs for sure.
