You probably heard about the Church of England getting all up in arms about Resistance: Fall of Man . Regardless of how silly you think it is, Sony was still obliged to make an official statement regarding the snafu.
"Sony Computer Entertainment Europe is aware of the concerns expressed by the Bishop of Manchester and the Cathedral authorities about the use of Manchester Cathedral in the game Resistance: Fall of Man, and we naturally take their concerns very seriously."
Evidently, Sony isn't about to shrug off the church, so they'll tread carefully, here. We seriously doubt Insomniac or Sony intended to offend anyone with the area in question, and we also don't believe it should be viewed in an offensive manner. But that's just our opinion, and Sony plans to cover all their bases before moving past the complaint.
"Whilst we believe that we have sought and received all permissions necessary for the creation of the game, we will be contacting the Cathedral authorities in order to better understand their concerns in more detail.
Well, at least they're going about it politely. Let's hope the two can resolve their differences without starting a holy war.
