We still don't know who the voice of Snake will be in the upcoming Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain .
Earlier, the original voice of Snake, actor David Hayter, made it plain that he hadn't been contacted to reprise his role. This ticked off the hardcore fans something fierce, but now it seems possible that Konami and Hideo Kojima may have reconsidered. Or maybe they were always planning to use Hayter…who knows?
And it's not like we have any sort of official confirmation. But after Konami posted up a certain video (see it below) on its Twitter page, Hayter Tweeted the following encouraging response:
" I'm so excited for E3! I just hope I don't lose my voice. 😉 "
Many avid fans of the franchise made it plain that they wanted Hayter to return. It just doesn't feel much like MGS without that guy, right? Maybe the fans will get precisely what they want on June 6…

See! THIS is what I was talking about at the time.
Hideo…. the man is a troll, haha.
If this is true, it won't surprise me at all.
NOT funny Koji. If he puts somebody else on that stage there will be a brawl.
Well, I certainly don't mind Hayter not coming back, don't get me wrong, I like his voice as Snake but it certainly ain't the end of the world if he doesn't.
What I don't like was Kojima's reason for dropping Hayter.
So excited for this E3 AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!
After watching that there's no doubt that Hayter is going to be back. I don't know if this was all planned or if they are responding to the fans, but I thinks it's better this way.
BIG QUESTION EVERYONE:
Will the story continue for Solid/Old Snake or is this a different Snake or what the hell is going on?
Please somebody enlighten me.
It's continuing Bigboss's story from Peace Walker. Judging by what I have seen it's around the time of 'Les Enfants Terribles' project.

Actually it is set after 'Les Enfants Terribles'. That actually covered in the timeline when Big Boss went into a coma at the end of Portable Ops… Though I can see why you could overlook that as they have barely made any references at all. Being to one of the biggest events in the series I feel they have missed out on a great opportunity there. But then if I am honest I have not enjoyed the stories of Big Boss's two games after MGS3.
Like previous MGS's it seems there are two parts to the game one like a prologue then the other the main game:
Ground Zeroes – Is set 1974 – Directly after Peace Walker which you can play on the HD Collection.
Phantom Pain is set 9 years after the event of Ground Zeroes, so roughly 1983-4
Ah fair enough. Will look at the timeline again. Just the fact he's in a coma kind of went in hand with the 'Les Enfants Terribles'.
Understandable, to be honest I wish it was. It's such a huge point in the saga and I am upset they brushed it to the side in less than a minute of Portable Op's story. Still I am very excited to see what Kojima will be revealing in the next few weeks 🙂
Do you guys think we will be able to play this game on PS4? I am selling my PS3 after the last of us and will be bleak if i dont get to play this game…
You won't hang around for Beyond: Two Souls?
I hope it doesn't go on the Playstation 4… purely on the basis that I don't want to have to buy one so soon 😛 if it did though… Yes that would be a system seller without a doubt. Though as for now through I see it as the best send of to the PS3 that it could ever get.
And GTA5 & GT6 &…….
ahhhhh, yay?
never understood why people get in such a hum bub over voice actors.
they can use barbie as the voice for snake for all i care, as long as the series signature story and gameplay is there ill be happy.
O, and for the love of god get rid of the convoluted cut scenes!
take 50 minutes to produce a conversation which could of been done in 1/4 of that time!
VERY boring and VERY frustrating!!!!!!
"they could use barbie as snakes voice for all I care"
Let's just focus on that for a moment.
You REALLY wouldn't care if Snake had the voice of Barbie?
Really?
Honestly?
It wouldn't affect your experience with the game…. AT ALL???
EDIT: You want them to keep the signature MGS story, while getting rid of all cut-scenes? Those two things are mutually exclusive.

no i said get rid of the convoluted cut scenes.
they just drag on for far too long.
as for barbie, no i just said it for the sake of saying it.
sure it will be a bit weird hearing a girls voice while looking at a guy, but besides that who cares what snakes voice sounds like.
just put it this way, if the worst thing about MGS5 is the voice of its main character, than dam it must be a pretty f*cking good game!
its like saying the worst part about a car is the color of the stitching around the cigarette lighter, i mean who cares!

This is good news if it's true. I have some MGS withdrawal symptoms. I cannot wait for the legacy collection.

Probably he gonna do Solid Snake voice in a scene after credits or something like that :p

Yeah this was my thought too, I reckon young snake might be in this game, and Hayter will play him.
I still don't know how Hayter would pull off a 8 year old Solid Snake's voice…that's just creepy.
