Variety Talks PlayStation 3

Entertainment publication Variety has a lengthy article this week detailing Sony CEO Howard Stringer's rise to power, as well as the company's forthcoming plans to introduce BluRay and the PlayStation 3.

Among the numerous informative bits in the piece is the author's assertion that the PlayStation 3 won't ship this spring, and that the company is, in fact, shooting for a Holiday 2006 launch for the much-anticipated console.

"Sony's new PlayStation 3 was widely expected to be introduced this spring, but will be delayed as the company fine-tunes the chips that are crucial to the success of the console's Blu-ray function."
