Del Toro Talking To A “Very Big Company” To Revive inSane

Noted film director Guillermo del Toro must've been disappointed when his proposed game project, inSane , had to be ditched by a floundering THQ.

But it seems he isn't interested in letting the title fall by the wayside (remember, this is supposed to be a trilogy), and now he's talking to a "very, very big company" that will help resurrect the temporarily derailed project.

Or at least, that's what he told the Toronto Sun last week:

We are in talks with a very, very big company. I can’t say who, but it’s one of the big ones. They really responded to the game, they responded to what we were trying."

Any idea which company might pick up inSane ? He has been quoted as saying he'd love for Half-Life developer Valve to be involved, but we're not sure they qualify as a "very, very big company." At this point, though, we just want to hear a little more about the game; i.e., just the baseline details. Like, knowing the genre, intended platforms, and general theme, concept and style…

Glad to hear that inSane's still getting pushed out there.

And I hope it finally makes it out the gate this time.

It's a shame that we'll have to wait a good long while until it resurfaces. Even if all the work done at Volition is carried over to the new dev/publisher, it'll take some time to move it over to new consoles. Just hope it isn't Activision. That would be terrible.

It could be Activision, EA or Ubisoft.

It has to be Bethesda, they handled Lovecraftian horror expertly with Call of Cthulhu: Dark Corners of the Earth.

I hope not.

I'm still bitter how bugthesda treated the PS3.

Maybe we can hope for better PS4 support.

Personally I would think most known companies would have produced a higher quality game than THQ anyway, so I look at the whole situation as a good thing.

Sorry, but I've always felt that THQ simply put out sub-par, unpolished games.

how wouldent valve qualify as a very big company?
they practically OWN the PC market, not to mention the new steambox console/PC there creating.
if valve is not a very big company, than neither are $ony, M$, samsung, ect, ect.

whoever it is, ANYONE but EA or antivision!
there just obsessed with giving you yesterdays COD!
oh and not 2K, especially after the pathetic bile their CEO has been spewing at THQ recently.
dude seriously needs to grow up, most people would of been fired so fast their head would of created its own gravitational field if they said that!
hell i remember a few years ago a friend of mine got demoted, salary cuts ect, ect, just for saying their competitors are stuck in the past.
i guess professionalism is gone these days, now everyone has to act like 10 year old spoiled brats!
