We've seen a new Assassin's Creed entry in each of the last four years. And Ubisoft is wondering if they should continue that approach.
The "if" part is interesting. Apparently, according to a survey acquired by The Gaming Liberty , Ubisoft is asking fans several questions pertaining to the next installment in the popular and acclaimed franchise.
One of the questions asks how likely gamers would be to purchase the next AC title if it released next year. That means a new iteration for 2013 isn't written in stone, right? Another intriguing point is the question involving co-op, which is bound to generate plenty of discussion from the AC followers (by the way, I say no ). Ubisoft also wants to know if we'd like to see Desmond or Connor return in the next game; if the majority want Connor back and they do want a sequel in 2013, that will probably happen. Just a guess.
Assassin's Creed III is the first installment since the original to not feature Ezio Auditore and the Italian Renaissance era. If they stick with the Revolution setting and Connor, Ubisoft can probably pump out another title for next year; if the fans want something entirely new again, they'll likely have to wait. …and I don't mind waiting, either.
Watch them force an AI partner on ya. Anyway I'm sure a spinoff is coming, it makes too much money.
That's really going to suck so bad..
I'd rather they moved on to a new protagonist and setting. ACIII is fantastic but there are so many other historical eras that would be great, ancient egypt, greece or rome would be great, or the french revolution… There's just so much they can do so I'd hate for them to stick to the same time period again.
I think if it will be yearly they will have to do that for the sake of expediently pushing out spinoffs while the next big sequel setting is prepared like the setting for III while II was getting its sequels.
Ancient Egypt would be great to explore..
Russia. Look into the fall of the dynasty. Plus tremendous architecture.
I vote 1920s Art Deco Chicago, New York or Paris
I'd say at least another one with more of Conner's story, maybe a prequel with more of a Indian flair, or his tribal day's?(FYI, I don't have AC3 yet, so I don't how their tribal story fleshes out).
Especially if Ubi's going to be doing yearly releases, since they'll have many more years ahead to do other new protagonist's in other new locales.
Doubt they'll do that because in AC3, you get to control Connor through portions of his childhood as he grows up.
I love AC I believe its the best new series this gen but its time for a break! We've had three bad ass assassins in four games and then three portable games I don't want Ubi to ruin it. Perhaps its time to bring back the Prince or something new.

I honestly think it's to early for another release. I would like to see AC4 in 2014 with no Revelations/Brotherhood type release in 2013. I really think they dilute the subject matter to much. Unfortunately there will be another AC entry released in 2013. Hopefully it's exceptional and then it won't matter.
I hold the AC series in high regard. It's definitely in my Top 5 favorite gaming series. I'd buy it next year if they made one for sure. I'm not going to ruin anything as I don't want to spoil the game for those who haven't completed it. Yet, I think we'll more Connor. I want to see more Desmond as well as his skills have become downright awesome over the series. All series have to end some where but I think there's a lot more of AC to tell
BTW I say no to co-op
As much as I love Assassin's Creed, I think Ubisoft should just hold off for now. They need to build another quality Assassin's Creed title and I'm willing to wait. The story of AC2 was quality, the scale, depth and improvements of AC3 were great. If they could expand upon that, that'd be one freakin' awesome Assassin's Creed title.
I would rather see AC4 on next gen without co-op or multi. I think a series can go stale with a continuing flood of sequels. As far as a new time era. Maybe the Spanish Inquisition?
I love co-op and I actually think it could be implemented well. But… The stealth aspect would possibly go away.
I'm sure they are already working on the next title. I just dont see less than a year of development time being long enough. It's in the works already.
Well stealth can work. I know many people here disliked the new splinter cell but I think the stealth ops on coop was awesome. It actually worked quite well.
As much as I value the AC franchise I'd prefer a no show for 2013. There's an awesome lineup of games already and I'd rather see Ubisoft take the time to craft up something with a longer term production plan. Perhaps even do away with some of those lingering issues from the third game. Let's do something about those frequent load screens. Let's do something about more polish. The sort of things that extra time can afford.
I don't know if they able to do this from the game but i wish they had sea battles in multiplayer!!
OH GOD NO!
please ubisoft, for the love of god, just take AC back to the way it use to be!
and no annualization, i dont want to see anything on a AC game till 2014!
Not really the best idea. Might be better to hold off for a little longer.
