Some of the more dedicated gamers have already beaten the masterpiece that is Borderlands 2 and given the ending, fans are already taking about what might happen in the sequel.
And of course, we're getting a little ahead of ourselves. The game just released on September 18 and we're talking about Borderlands 3 …? Gearbox boss Randy Pitchford is a little confused, too; he took to his Twitter page to inform people that in fact, his team didn't finish Borderlands 2 and immediately return to work on a follow-up effort.
"Chill out internet. No one has started working on a sequel to Borderlands 2."
He followed that up by adding that currently, the only Borderlands -related development going on is for the recently released title, which is bound to have some downloadable content. Of course, while it's certainly too early to be asking questions about a sequel, one has to assume it's coming at some point. Sales for Borderlands 2 should be high; the critics loved it and September was relatively light in terms of heavy releases. We just gotta wait a bit longer than two weeks to ask questions about the big B3.

Wait, Borderlands 2 just released and fans are already asking for Borderlands 3? And Gearbox is the one that's telling fans to wait? Wow, that's the complete of the problem we're having with Assassin's Creed. Way to go, Gearsbox.
If this series were published by EA or Ubisoft, we would've had sixteen spin-offs on the PSVita, Wii-U, or 3DS by now.
Seriously. I understand why game companies do annual installments, but I'll always think it's way, way too much. Every two years, tops.
I sooooo hope the DLC for this title is huge. Been having a lot of fun online.
Have to think it will be. A game like Borderlands really lends itself to tons of DLC expansions.
Wow, the twitcher crowd really doesn't have much patience, do they?
Yep, twitching and more twitching… and it gets worse with age!

Good on gearbox. Support the game you just released and everyone can patiently wait the follow up.
Good to see a franchise blast off into space but if Borderlands delays another Duke game forever I'm not gonna be happy.
Really? Do we have to drag Duke's name through the mud AGAIN? I don't think I have the stomach for it… 😉
Lol!
