Sony has been lifting the lid on all sorts of new stuff at Gamescom today.
One of them is a new "teen horror-style" project from Supermassive Games that will take advantage of the PlayStation Move controller and launch some time in 2013.
It's called Until Dawn and we'll take control of multiple characters who – we're assuming – are gonna have to find a way to survive. The Move will be utilized in a "totally natural way," as it will fill different mechanical roles, such as a flashlight that will allow us to find our way in the dark. As for the plot and story, the developer says they've teamed up with Hollywood writers and various TV talent, and they're promising a downright "shocking" script. We could definitely use some good writing.
This could be a survival/horror revival of sorts, as purist fans of that genre say new franchises like Dead Space and the action-oriented approach of Resident Evil 6 are squashing the category's roots. Well, this one could be the epitome of survival/horror, so…

Hmmm not so sure on this one, it seems to have taking all the annoying hollywood teen horror films and put them in a game. It's hardly going to deliver the in-depth experience Silent Hill 2 brought with James Sunderland's character. Still if it is atmospheric over action I might take some interest.
Do you have Silent Hill HD? They finally patched the slowdown and Heather's running glitch!
No I don't I heard it had major problems, like in Silent Hill 2 there is a problem with the draw stance and lack of fog showing the edges of some of the maps. If it is all fixed I'll definitely be picking up a copy Silent Hill 2 is easily in my top 10 games of all time.
I didn't notice any problems in SH2 just 3. But maybe you need to do some research on the latest patch before committing. I loved em. If you ever want to enjoy Downpour you sadly have to play it on easy or it gets mucked up.
I have the HD collection and I'm thankful I've been too busy with the Olympics and outdoors events to try it out. I'm glad they patched it after reading some of the reviews on Amazon. What I think is terrible is the fact that they aren't patching the 360 version.
Nice well I may well pick it up soon if that's the case. As for downpour… I'm not sold, I still haven't completed Homecoming it was just awful in every aspect.
Awful voice acting, awful animations make this game really daunting to anticipate. Its what every horror movie is these days, horny teens and 'thriller'. Meh. Not impressed.
Pretty much this.
I know it's early days but that was very uninspiring imo.
Sad to see any horror effort wasted on "teen" anything.
Oh shame on all of you…
I've been pretty outspoken about motion controls but I think this game looks rather promising. I didn't find the voice acting that bad and the setting reminds me of 80s horror, yummy.
80's horror is great and classic but this will have to be really good to capture that lightning in a bottle.
There aren't enough true horror games. If this manages a 7 I will get Move to play it.
Looks Movie-like. I like.
This looks like it could be fun, although I will likely wait for reviews to get a feel for whether or not I want to pick it up. I was looking forward to Amy also, and that appeared to turn out pretty awful. Anyone hear anything about the Deadly Premonition remaster on PS3? They announced that back in March, but I haven't seen any updates since then.
You should tweet SWERY on Twitter, he should get back to you. Deadly Premonition is an amazing game with an interesting storyline, the gameplay and graphics aren't the best but it stays true to horror. I heard it was basically Twin Peaks: The Game, but I've never seen it so I cannot comment. But yeah, apparently the remaster would have better graphics and Move, however I haven't heard anything new since either.
Lost me at MOVE ,they lost a buyer they could have if it was a normal ps3 game but then again mayve the game would never have seen the light of day if it was nt for the move ..
Sorry it was nt my intention to offend a move lover .
The trailer was to short for me to be able to pass judgement, but it already loses points for being a move game. If it turns out that I can use my DS3 then I'll definitely keep my eyes on it.
oh hell yes!
been waiting for oh so long for this to be revealed i was starting to get worried it was canned!
shame its not releasing this year, it really could of been the 1 core game $ony has this year!
i really hope companies start to look up and take notice!
theres allot of horror games popping up this year that have been really popular so hopefully were seeing a revival in the genre!
We definitely keep on eye on this one…yet another PS3 exclusive to look forward to
I'll keep and eye out for this one looks pretty good.
