Did you find Dragon's Dogma too tough? Or have you hesitated to try it because you've heard it's a challenge?
Either way, Capcom has decided to placate you: As they revealed yesterday , a new patch for the game will introduce a brand new Easy Mode for beginners. The patch will go live on August 6 in Japan.
Furthermore, PS3 owners will get the chance to sample a new demo, which will arrive on August 9. It's called the "Adventure Demo" and it'll let you play through the introduction, all the way up through the hydra boss battle. If you decide to purchase the title based on that sampling, your demo save data will transfer over to the full game. Again, as far as we know, both the patch and the demo are only currently confirmed for Japan, but maybe Capcom will see fit to give North American and European gamers the same treatment.
So, did you find Dragon's Dogma too hard?
I haven't bought it yet but I plan to once I start working again. As long as they put an easy mode in I have no issue with that, just don't consider dumbing down your next entry because of this. I have always been the person to say that there should be an incredibly tough mode and a casual mode for just about any game out there, and just to make people happy don't link trophies to either of those modes. This generation of games has become ridiculously easy for the most part and I am not a fan of that. I don't hate casual gamers but I don't think games should be built around them, just put in a mode for them, then the rest of us that want a challenge can also be happy too.
Dragons Dogma is not that difficult, especially to the point of needing an easy mode.
As long as they keep the other modes as is, all this does is increase accessibility. It can be hard for people that have been gaming for a long time to appreciate, but new entrants to gaming can find even the easy modes plenty difficult.
I agree, I burned through the game pretty quickly myself. That's why I got that review in so quickly a while back… I should get back to writing those.
They should add a harder mode too.
Lol… 2 headed dragons… for that extra fire power!
Q!
"play.experience.enjoy"
does that include a leave me the f*ck alone mode?
really cant understand why developers these days refuse to learn from others mistakes!
far cry 2 had the whole f*cking world attacking you 24/7 and they got ripped a new hole for it!
so borderlands goes and does the same!
and now this.
i mean its like they want people to whine about their games!
having to defend yourself 24/7 instead of spending some of your time gathering items and completing quests is SERIOUSLY frustrating!!!!!!
im sur e youre not getting attacked 24/7 in DD or borderlands, ive seen plenty of videos of ppl playing borederlands walking around a full 10 seconds without a single thing to shoot at
This game was a little easy in the beginning. The second half of the game is a much better pace and skill level, but still kind of easy if your level is high enough. But that is just my opinion.
You wont think its easy when you try to kill that Online Dragon. Forget its name.
