We recently learned that the hotly anticipated Tomb Raider reboot wouldn't make it this year. Disappointing.
But as a consolation prize, Square Enix and Crystal Dynamics have given us an epic new trailer and a fresh, solidified date: March 5, 2013. That's when Lara's new adventure will drop for the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and PC.
We haven't seen Lara since 2010's Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light and that was a little different, as it was a downloadable-only, top-down, dungeon-crawling experience. This reboot is really the first full-fledged 3D adventure since Tomb Raider: Underworld in 2008, so fans of the franchise have had a long wait. It's time to drop Lara back into the fray! Check out the new video:
It reminds me a lot of Uncharted , only with more stealth elements and almost a survival/horror vibe (only without the freaky monsters) in some cases. Either way, it looks great and I hope it successfully rejuvenates the series. Tomb Raider deserves a rebirth!
