Ubisoft Announces New Tom Clancy Game

Ubisoft has announced more Tom Clancy goodness coming our way within the next 12 months. The newest in the flagship franchise is called EndWar and Ubisoft's Shanghai studio will be at the helm of development. The targeted release date is for "fiscal 2007/08", which means the latest it'll arrive is March of 2008. If I were a betting man, I wouldn't place my money on a simultaneous PS3 and Xbox 360 launch for the game, based on the wording for the game's release.

The game travels into the future to show us World War III, and that becomes the main landscape for the game.

“Our development teams are invigorated to be creating the first 100 percent next-generation Tom Clancy brand,” said Serge Hascoët, chief creative officer at Ubisoft. “Our success with Tom Clancy franchises is unparalleled in the next-generation and Tom Clancy’s EndWar will be a marvelous addition to the already critically acclaimed library of games. A strategy game like no other, EndWar will allow gamers to lead their own armies against hundreds of others online in real global locations on the massive battlefields of World War III.”

Ubisoft touts a game built from the ground up that'll harness the powers of the next-gen consoles with superb physics, visuals, and artificial intelligence. Look for the June issue of EGM to feature EndWar when it goes on in two weeks.
