If there's one franchise that brings us closest to Hollywood action, it's Uncharted .
It's enough to inspire a hardcore fan to take the next step and create full-length feature films based on the groundbreaking, award-winning series…
If you take a gander at Reddit , you will see the impressive achievement of YouTube user morphinapg: He has changed each of the three Uncharted entries into full movies, using only the "minimum amount of gameplay" required to ensure the story's cohesiveness. And why such a massive undertaking?
"I've often heard many people describe these games as like controlling a movie, and have heard many people say that these games are just as fun to watch as they are to play, and I agree with both of those things. That gave me the idea to edit these games into movies. That way I would be able to watch the story of these games in one sitting easily, and without having to take up a considerable portion of my day. Not only that, but I would be able to show these to people who either don't have a PS3, don't have or want these games but still are interested in seeing the story, or even don't play video games at all."
That one is "only" two hours; the film based on Uncharted 2: Among Thieves clocks in at three hours (watch it here ) and the one based on Uncharted 3: Drake's Deception goes well over the three-hour mark (watch it here ). …you've got some time on your hands, right?
I've kinda wondered why they don't just make Uncharted into a feature length cgi movie like that resident evil movie a while back.
I'd rater a live action, CGI… No thanks…
I'm making popcorn! who's comin' over? 🙂
Very interesting, they must have put a ton of effort into this,
but i'm still glad i got to play the uncharted franchise as a game.
Cool,
I always wanted Squaresoft & SE to do this with the FF franchise ever since the PS2 days just because although I can't get into RPG game-play, I'd still like to watch all FF games as movies & see how everything unfolds.
BTW, I bought FFVII Advent Children just for that reason and enjoyed it(although I've heard it wasn't the greatest).
What I found interesting was how much the bluray version of Advent Children added to the story. It made it SO much more cohesive! Which version did you watch?
Pretty good idea, seems pretty well done too. Watched 15 min. Of the first game (my favorite of the 3). But there's nothing like actually playing them! That's where the experience really settles in!
cool i'll have to make watch this once my benadryl has worn off, damn allergies cant see well or think.
Instead of sending people over to Reddit to see the video, you could of sent them into the forums here…on Sunday!

That was actually really cool! I only got to play a few hours into the first uncharted until the disk crapped out on me. Was a rental too so not much i could do since it was the only copy. Had a friend fill me in on the rest of the game before i played U2. Cool to see it. Lots of work into making that i would imagine as well. Bravo sir
You should really try the first at this point anyways. It's the best in my opinion, if the story is what you're into.
I want to say how much I hated Uncharted Fanboys for a long time. "Its the greatest game evar!" was all I would hear. I mean UC fanboys can be even more vocal than MW guys.
I never have played the games. But last night I sit and watched ALL 3 MOVIES. The stories was that well written. The graphics and designs was even more amazing than that of what I had read about, even from here, everything was just, well, epic.
I watched these movies with as much fun as I did the Indiana Jones films. I kid you not. If I ever get the time again, I will go back and play these games.
But I just got the Vita and an bought FF tactics war of the lions, FF 4 Complete, Lunar silver star story, Hot shots golf, and a couple other games.
I also downloaded from PSN BF3. Love that.
Oh. Btw. I am playing Kingdoms of Amalur and I havent had this much fun in an action rpg in a long long time. I cant put this game down. Huge huge game.
Can you call them fanboys if it really is the best game evar?
i'l def see these some time, after I'm done with Drake's Deception
