The digital world beckons…
Mass Effect 3 is undoubtedly one of the biggest releases of 2012, and it'll be in stores on March 6. But you know, there's one other place to purchase BioWare's hotly anticipated RPG: the PlayStation Network.
Sony has confirmed that ME3 will be available to download on the PSN on the same day the physical copies arrive at brick-and-mortar retailers. The only catch is that you have to pre-order via the PSN, which you can do right now. In addition, those who pre-order the digital version will get the M55 Argus rifle as a bonus; it's a "close-range weapon that uses bursts of fire to ensure ammunition conservation." You'll nab a nifty ME3 PS3 theme, too.
Bear in mind that this offer pertains exclusively to the launch of Mass Effect 3 , so you have to strike before March 6. The interesting question is this: how many are willing to take up a giant chunk of their hard drive to put this big ol' game on it? I'm also willing to bet I could get to GameStop and come back before you're down downloading it… Yeah, sorry, still a big proponent of physical copies.
