The Turtles May Soon Return To Games

TMNT – Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles for all those under the age of 25 – gets me all nostalgic. You, too, right?

And if Activision really is planning to produce another title, I might be interested…well, provided it's a good old-fashioned side-scrolling beat-'em-up like previous entries.

This possibility is based on a bunch of pictures showing Playmates Toys, as reported at GameSpot . Among those pictures is the marketing plans for this line of toys, which includes "cross promotions with key licensees, including [comic publisher] IDW and Activision." IDW revealed its plan to produce TMNT comics last year but Activision hasn't made a peep about a new video game. Maybe that announcement will come soon.

The Turtles have been involved in gaming since the NES days and although their titles have never been masterpieces, they've often been plenty entertaining. I distinctly remember one particular iteration on the Gameboy called Fall of the Foot Clan , and I played the hell out of it. So we can always use a new TMNT, I say. Leonardo FTW!

A new tmnt game would effing awesome. i still remember how ridiculoisly hard the original tmnt on nes was. hella crazy.
Turtles in time was probably one of the best tmnt gaes.

That would be great. I like the new comics by IDW. It's a slightly different back story from what I grew up with but I love hearing the old school names like Krang. Hopefully the game will be good. I haven't enjoyed a TMNT game since the first one they produced on the ps2 based off of the new animated series they produced at the time.

They took down Turtles in Time I think UbiSoft lost the licensing contract few months ago. I wouldn't mind Activison go the beat em' up route TMNT 3: The Manhattan project was fun back in the day it would been a blast if I could roll with 3 other people in that game.

I beat the first one with the game genie because it became so dang hard deeper within the Technodrome. Back then game genie was cool to me and the idea of gamer pride hadn't set in yet. Kind of like easy mode in games today. I'd imagine most guys lower their self esteem a notch each time they choose an easy difficulty in any game =p

What a group of classic games. Ya know Leo was my favorite too. Don was next. Raph and Mike were even with me.

I think the same devs that have developed (and the new one currently developing) the Sly Cooper games could pull off an excellent TMNT game.

yess, Hope so, kinda nervous it's coming from activision I wonder who's actually supposed to be developing it. All it needs is a decent combo system and 4-player co-op(online,offline,local and online mixed) and it's D1P for me.

I just think its going to be s*** though. Turtles can be fun.. they just need to be loose from films and short dev time.

I still hope the rumor that Rocksteady making a co-op TMNT game is true. The turtles need a strong comeback. They were awesome in the 80's. And maybe they can be a little more on the dark side as they were in the comics of old.

Raphael was the most bad-a$$, had the best sarcastic sense of humor, and never took any crap from anyone. Also, sais.

Raphael is the best, hands down. Go look up his quotes on IMDB in the two turtles movies. He's a pretty funny character.

"Cricket? Nobody understands cricket! You gotta know what a crumpet is to understand cricket!"

Raphael: You guys must be studying the *abridged* book of Ninja fighting.
[fights the Foot Soldiers with ease]
Raphael: I mean, come on, how do you guys expect to beat me?
[more and more Foot Soldiers arrive]
Raphael: Good answer. Good answer.

I credit the original NES Turtles game with preparing me for failure in life. Damn that game was hard

The first time I found a captured turtle bound and actually SAVE-able, I'm pretty sure I sung out a hallelujah chorus.
