Ben-DutkaAs most of you know, Minecraft creator Markus "Notch" Persson Tweeted that he wanted Psychonauts 2 to happen .
Tim Schafer had stated that he'd need a million dollars to get the project off the ground, as he had pitched the idea several times but no publisher wanted to back it. And now, we hear Schafer has had a "lovely chat" with Notch about the prospect in question, although we're a long way from anything official, of course. As Schafer said, "these things take time."
But suppose it does. If it does, it'll be the result of one developer assisting another. Granted, it's on a personal basis, but there are several well-off game designers out there who, like the rest of us, are big gamers themselves. One has to assume they want titles we all want, titles that we probably won't see for a variety of reasons. Many times, the primary reason is a lack of money. But what if this whole Psychonauts 2 project went off without a hitch, and some notable developers out there go, "hey, there's a game I want to see, too…"
Of course, it's likely that most developers have their own projects but we can't forget that they're gamers, just like the customers. They all have their own personal favorites and preferences and if they had the means, don't you think they'd try and make a previously impossible game…well, possible? Wouldn't you ?
