Visceral Games made an entertaining action game called Dante's Inferno , a title that has garnered a good-sized following of staunch supporters.
Well, those supporters should be encouraged by the latest find by Superogatory : it seems a sequel might be in the works.
The official bio for writer Joshua Rubin, who also worked on Assassin's Creed II , says he was also "the sole writer for a Major Unannounced Sequel from Visceral Studios at EA Games." Now, Visceral also does Dead Space , but the third entry has already been confirmed. Besides, why would Rubin add a "hint" and link his bio to the Super Bowl trailer for the original Dante's Inferno ? …yeah, that's pretty clear.
Therefore, we all have to assume that Visceral is cranking away on a sequel. We have no official word yet but bear in mind that the game sold well, despite a less-than-desirable critical reception.
Yay!!!
World is going to like this news!
Pumped up for this!!
Good news enjoyed the 1st one 🙂
Yup, I'm very happy about this. The first cleared 1 million but deserved more. I think people just weren't interested in what was going on. (History, RPG elements, the character drama, symbolism) There was lots of room for improvement and I hope they make something that can rival GOWIV.
World, happy about that eventhough I didn't actually purchase Dante's Inferno myself when it was released. It did seem you really enjoyed it, and felt at the time, that the game production values were high.
No doubt I will be interested in seeing what they do with an Inferno 2 game. I wonder if they are trying to "achieve" the same production level quality as GoWIII? I am sure, secretively anyway, that is their aim.
If Inferno 2 is going to be good, can you imagine what GoWIV will be like…
Q!

Oh yeah, I'm sooooooo looking forward to this.
Ok, I liked Dante's Inferno but It go so dull in the end… I don't know why. I was just not feeling it, although I wanted to. I'm curious about this one.

hope so, i loved dantes inferno!
i find this hard to believe though, i mean how can they be working on this and dead space 3?
only a small studio, which got allot smaller a few weeks ago when there studio in melbourne got shut down.
hope its the other way around, this is what there working on and DS3 is just in conceptual stages.
as much as i loved DS2, im kinda sick of it already.
we need a new dantes inferno, so few hack and slash games out there, and even fewer really good ones!
I LOVE Dante's Inferno and somehow, oddly, I found it more entertaining than GOW3 and more visually stunning and vibrant.
this is great news!
