Rumor: Size Matters Heading To PS2

We all know how well Ratchet and Clank Future: Tools of Destruction for the PS3 fared, so perhaps the R&C craze should only increase in intensity. According to Joystiq, we're about to witness another blending of the PS2 and PSP, as GameStop evidently has a listing for Ratchet and Clank: Size Matters for the PS2. It seems it would be ported over from the PSP, and is scheduled to arrive on February 12 and cost $30.

Now, it wouldn't be all that surprising to find a PSP game on the PS2; Rockstar and Take-Two did it with several Grand Theft Auto installments, for example. However, without any official announcement from Sony or Insomniac regarding Size Matters for the PS2, we can't call this anything more than a rumor. This isn't exactly the news we've been waiting for from Insomniac – hey, what about Resistance: Fall of Man 2 ?! – but it only proves the PS2 is firmly entrenched in the industry. Can this thing ever die? Honestly?

We'll try to get some information on this game as soon as humanly possible. Some questions we hope to get answered include- 1. Is it true? (duh) 2. Is it a direct port or will there be significant gameplay changes, and 3. is the PS2 the Energizer bunny of video game consoles?
