Madden Gets Early Price Cut

Once again a top-selling title, EA's Madden NFL '07 has been sitting at or near the top of the sales charts ever since its release in late August. And what's a good way to keep it up there? Well, according to a few online retailers, some of the game's most popular editions are getting a little price reduction.

The PS2 and Xbox versions of the game are now set to retail for $39.99 on sites like EBgames.com, GameStop.com, Amazon.com, and BestBuy.com. Of course, both versions were previously tagged at the traditional $49.99.

As for the Xbox 360, GC, PSP, DS, and GBA versions, they still remain at their original prices. But at the same time, some websites are suddenly listing the Xbox 360 Hall of Fame version at $59.99, down $10 from the initial suggested retail.

Last year, EA dropped the price of Madden NFL '06 more than a few times throughout the football season, and by the time the Super Bowl rolled around, it was going for a very reasonable $29.99. It appears the company is following a similar plan for '07.
