Word out of Crave Entertainment today is that the company is working on a card game collection for the PS2 and PSP entitled World Championship Cards.
The game, which will ship later in the fall, will feature over 30 different varieties of classic card games, including Bridge, Gin Rummy, Solitaire, Cribbage, Hearts, Spades, Crazy 8's, and so on.
Extensive multiplayer features will allow players to compete online or wirelessly against others in the same room. With regard to the PS2 version, players will be able to see each other and talk to one another using the EyeToy camera and USB headset. No word yet on whether the PSP and PS2 games will be interoperable online.
"With the phenomenal success of the World Championship Poker titles, the World Championship brand has become recognized for high quality," said Sheri Snow, Director of Marketing for Crave Entertainment. "Players will know they
can expect the same standard gameplay and features in this collection that
they find in the poker titles."
Perhaps the best news of all is the price. World Championship Cards for PS2 will carry an MSRP of just $14.99, while the PSP version will sell for $19.99.
