Seaman 2 Under Development

Big news from Sega today, as the company revealed that it's hard at work on Seaman 2 for the PlayStation 2.

The original Seaman, released on Dreamcast, was a virtual pet simulator where players were tasked with raising fish-like creatures known as "seamen." The seamen had fish bodies, but human heads, and could gesture and speak gibberish. What made the game so unique was that you could actually converse with and command your seamen with a packed-in microphone peripheral.

Not much has been said about Seaman 2, and Sega hasn't yet released screens. All they've told us so far is that the game will use Sony's microphone peripheral and will ship sometime in 2006.
