Radiata Stories was a surprising title to see at Square's booth. Immediately, the game reminded me of Threads of Fate, one game that really needs to be ressurrected by Square. The graphics were very simple, if not too simple. The obvious focus is the gameplay. And as soon as you experience a battle, you'll notice that the combat system is pretty quick since you can freely control your characters on screen. You'll enter a battle, and once on the field, you'll have three characters running around — all of which you can choose to control individually. The real time battles are very engaging and are surely the highlight of Radiata Stories. Based on the time I spent with the game, I came away fairly impressed. While its visuals are very simple, its got a lot going for it with its gameplay — especially that battle system. RPG fans should really keep an eye out for Radiata Stories.
