It's uncommon for a video game to sell more than 1 million copies in Japan, but to sell twice that many in under a week is extremely unheard of.
But that's exactly what Square-Enix is reporting with regards to the company's latest RPG (no, not a Final Fantasy game), Dragon Quest VIII.
Dragon Quest VIII (aka Dragon Warrior to those of us across the big pond) sold 2.2 million copies since Thursday of last week, and is expected to sell-out its initial 3 million unit shipment sometime this week.
Square-Enix is currently localizing the game for a later North American release sometime in 2005.
