We'd just like to congratulate the Boston Red Sox for completing their miracle comeback against the New York Yankees by taking game 7 of the American League Championship Series (Red Sox 10, Yankees 3).
And they did it IN Yankee Stadium. "Who's your daddy?!"
Johnny Damon provided all the offense the Sox needed, clocking a grand slam in the 2nd and tacking on a two-run bomb in the 4th. Like The Big Lebowski said, "you don't f*ck wit' da Jesus."
We saw history in the making tonight baseball fans. The first time in baseball that any team came back from a 3-0 deficit in a best of 7 series. And now, the Red Sox are one series away from possibly putting the "Curse of the Bambino" to bed. Won't it be nice when Red Sox fans don't have that as an excuse anymore? It could happen.
The AP said it best, "Believe it, New England, the Red Sox are in the World Series. And they got there with the most unbelievable comeback of all, shaming the New York Yankees, the Evil Empire to the south."
David Ortiz was named ALCS MVP.
Tomorrow night, the Houston Astros and St. Louis Cardinals play game 7 of the NLCS to decide who will challenge Boston in the World Series. Non-fans take note, if Houston makes it, it will pit former-Red Sox ace Roger Clemens against his old team.
