Looking forward to Ace Combat 5, the latest installment in Namco's air dogfight franchise?
Have a heavy wallet?
Namco announced today that the company would be shipping a limited number of units of a bundle set of Ace Combat 5: The Unsung War. Priced at $129.99, the bundle set will include a copy of Ace Combat 5, a specially branded Hori Flightstick 2 peripheral, and an exclusive "Wardog Squadron" jacket patch. Only 20,000 of the bundle set will be produced, which will be sold exclusively through EB Games and GameStop outlets. Consumers who pre-order the game or the bundle at those retailers will also receive a "making of" DVD and a bonus set of exclusive jacket patches.
The Flightstick 2 is designed to resemble an airplane flight stick, and will have analog throttle and steering controls, specific buttons and switches for activating weapons and defenses, and also feature force-feedback motors.
Namco and Hori have previously collaborated on a number of projects in Japan, including the original Flightstick peripheral for Ace Combat 4, as well as Tekken and Soul Calibur branded controllers.
Ace Combat 5 ships to stores on October 25. The game by itself will cost $49.99.
