Tiger Woods 2005 In Stores Now

The game featuring the #2 golfer in the world, Tiger Woods PGA TOUR 2005 is available in stores today for the PS2, Xbox, GameCube and the PC. The game will cost $50 for consoles and $40 for the PC.

In an all-new Legends career mode, players will be able to create a detailed golf character (aged anywhere from 8 to 80), then take that golfer to the course to earn the chance to tee off against some of golf's greatest legends including Jack Nicklaus, Arnold Palmer, and Ben Hogan. Only when players complete the ultimate challenge — a victory over Tiger Woods himself — will they become golf legends themselves.

The game also has a feature called Tiger Proofing, where you can act as a golf course superintendent and alter the courses in the game to build the most challenging layouts imaginable. Tiger Proofing will let gamers change the width and patterns of fairways and greens, the depth of bunkers and rough and even the color of the leaves on the trees to make the courses more difficult, unique and prestigious enough to attract the Legends to come out of retirement and challenge them on their course.

The game has eight new licensed courses including Harbor Town Golf Links, Sherwood Country Club, Fancourt Golf Club Estate and the Ailsa Course at Turnberry Golf Club. It also features 15 different PGA TOUR players including Tiger Woods, PGA Championship winner Vijay Singh, US Open champion Retief Goosen and 14 new fantasy characters. David Feherty and Gary McCord make up an announcing Dream Team, providing their commentary and observations on every shot.

Online play will allow players a chance to play head-to-head matches, face-off in tournament play, and exclusive "battle golf" events with broadband connections. Players will also be able to bring their created "Dream 18" online to compete on their own customized courses.
