Frank-ProvoWB Interactive has awarded Global Star Software, a unit of Take-Two Interactive, the rights to develop and publish videogames based on the upcoming film version of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.
The film, directed by Tim Burton, is set for release in 2005 and features Johnny Depp in the starring role as Willy Wonka.
High Voltage Software will develop the console versions of the game. The company has previously developed such hits as Hunter: The Reckoning, NBA Inside Drive, and Leisure Suit Larry: Magna Cum Laude.
