SCEA discussed some stats about online play in its PlayStation 2 title SOCOM II: U.S. Navy Seals. Sony stated that since May 1 of this year, there has been an average of 373,000 player hours per day online in the title, leading the company to proclaim that “by itself, SOCOM II is logging more player hours daily than all Xbox titles worldwide.” The total hours played online is “fast approaching” 94.0 million hours. It's so unlike Sony to brag about how they're beating everyone. More than 30,000 simultaneous users per day are still playing the title, nine months after launch, with an average of 103,000 unique SOCOM II accounts logging in each day.
