Aaron ThomasElectronic Arts has renamed its NASCAR videogame series in order to reflect changes made on the NASCAR circuit as well as the “revolutionary additions” the game will feature. Players will also be able to take part in street races that will be used to settle disputes between drivers.
NASCAR 2005: Chase for the Cup is due out on August 31 for the PlayStation 2, Xbox and GameCube platforms, and will feature Kevin Harvick as its cover athlete. The title will contain a story mode that will force players to climb the racing ranks, on the NASCAR Featherlite Modified, NASCAR Craftsman Truck, and NASCAR National circuits, before they are able to earn a NASCAR ride.
