Aaron ThomasKOEI today announced that it will publish SAMURAI WARRIORS XTREME LEGENDS in North America. The expansion pack, which can also be played without the original Samurai Warriors disc, is exclusive to the PlayStation 2. The North American release of SAMURAI WARRIORS XTREME LEGENDS is scheduled for this November.
Set in 16th century Japan, the fall of the Ashikaga Shogunate caused a series of major wars between individual warlords vying for power. This era in Japanese history became known as the Sengoku or "warring states" period. SAMURAI WARRIORS reveals the stories from this dramatic era and combines it with pure Tactical Action gameplay.

The soon to be released game will introduce new characters, and new chapters to the story of the Samurai Warriors. Players will discover more impressive weapons as well as a variety of new items and fighting skills. Along with new content, SAMURAI WARRIORS XTREME LEGENDS also opens up the original game 's character growth system for continued character development, so that players can create more powerful warriors.
SAMURAI WARRIORS XTREME LEGENDS is being developed by KOEI's internal studio, Omega Force, the team behind the Dynasty Warriors series. SAMURAI WARRIORS XTREME LEGENDS is a Tactical Action game for 1-2 Players and is rated "RP" by the ESRB.
