According to Acclaim's latest 10K financial filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission, the company's license agreements with the Major League Baseball Players Association and with Classic Media (owner of the Turok license) have been terminated due to failure to deliver royalty payments on time.
Without the MLBPA license, Acclaim won't be able to include the names or likenesses of actual players in the next installment of All-Star Baseball (should the company choose to publish one).
Negotiations to resolve both disputes are on-going.
The rest of the report describes other "uplifting" items such as the prospect of bankruptcy or take-over, and the company's $56.4 million loss piled up during the fiscal year that ended in March.
Zoinks, yo.
