Far Cry 5 Sets New Franchise Sales Record

Ubisoft announced today that its much anticipated new installment in the Far Cry series has generated over $300 million (USD) revenue in its first week alone, more than doubling Far Cry 4’s first week sell through. This makes Far Cry 5 Ubisoft’s second fastest selling game ever, behind only Tom Clancy’s The Division.

It seems that the game is also proving popular on streaming outlets such as Twitch, which has already broadcast over 55,000 hours of gameplay across all channels. With this announcement, Ubisoft also released some interesting infographs showcasing a few of the game’s metrics through the first week.

“Far Cry 5, like the real Montana, is a vast and gorgeous playground filled with colorful stories for players to enjoy and share,” said Laurent Detoc, President of Ubisoft, Americas. “We’re grateful to newcomers and fans of the series who have joined us in Hope County and have collectively grown our community.”
