Frank-ProvoMidway Games CEO David Zucker, speaking at RBC Capital Markets' North American Technology Conference, stated Wednesday that Midway plans to release a seventh installment in the Mortal Kombat franchise. No release date was mentioned, but Zucker did go on to say that the game would be published for PlayStation 3, "Xbox 2," and on an as-yet un-named mobile platform.
Since the PS3 isn't due to go on sale until late 2005 at the soonest, we're guessing that Mortal Kombat 7 won't see the light of day until 2006 or so.
Mortal Kombat: Deception, the 6th MK game, comes out for the PlayStation 2 and other consoles next month.
