ZRun Announced For Vita: A “Nonstop Running Action Game”

You've seen zombie games before. Everyone has.

But you've probably never seen a zombie game that's quite like this… Beatshapers Ltd has announced a new PlayStation Vita exclusive, ZRun . It's described as a "nonstop running action game in a zombie-infested world."

You need to just keep running. Avoid hitting obstacles, which halts your progress and causes damage, and you must either evade or eliminate the zombies in front of you. Every action you make costs stamina and if you run out, it's over. The cool part is that as you're running along, you'll also be able to pick up weapons and firearms; there are bats, swords and various guns. Ammo is limited, though, so use the guns wisely!

Your goal is to explore the city in which you're constantly being chased, and hopefully you can find the exit. New areas get unlocked after a successful run completion, and you can upgrade and customize your character. Said Beatshapers founder and CEO Alexey Menshikov:

"We are excited to push PlayStation®Vita hardware up to the limits to render big environments and more than 50 animated zombies on the scene. And we can’t wait to reveal our efforts on adapting such genre appealing to core and hardcore gamers."

ZRun will be available as a digital download for the Vita, and it can be played with the touchscreen, motion sensors, or the actual buttons. In fact, you can opt to use any combination of those mechanics you wish. Lastly, feel free to check out the debut trailer .

Umm. Okay. So it's a slower paced Temple Run with zombies?

I genuinely hope this isn't indicative of the kind of software coming to my beloved Vita.

It sounded good, but the trailer said otherwise. I was hoping for a Uncharted 3 style chase sequence.

Flippin' zombies… why? Why not… possessed stuffed animals or something?

why the vita?
this seems more like a game that would suit mobile devices.
the vita needs games it can call its own, but not games that just do not suit the device.
and zombies?
really?
come on, what happened to the good old days where jumping on the me too bandwagon was just not cool!?
