PlayStation Home Arcade App Available Now For Vita

So let's say you haven't spent much time in PlayStation Home over the years. That's understandable, although we still say you're missing out.

If we can't convince you to explore Home and check out some of the arcade games it has to offer, there's another option: Sony Computer Entertainment America (SCEA) has announced a new application for the PlayStation Vita; the PlayStation Home Arcade app.

This is now available as a free download on the PSN, and the initial lineup includes two free games in Icebreaker and Wipeout 2D , plus a free demo of the popular Scribble Shooter . Additional titles will be sold at $1.49 yeach and are playable on the Vita and in Home on the PS3. Furthermore, arcade cabinet purchases made by Home users can be downloaded to the PlayStation Home Arcade at no extra cost.

Here's what's currently available:

Old-school goodness in Home or on the go. Can it get any better than that?

I don't see how this is a bad thing. It's something that if handled right could actually be a very nice addition to the Vita. Either way it's not something you're forced to download so why b*tch about it?

I would imagine that Home would continue on the next system, in some form. They seem to make a lot of money with it. I don't know if it will be more of the same, an upgraded version, or a full reboot. I think it depends on the new tech that PS4 brings. I'm sure it'll be cool.

I'm still waiting for Crackle. The only news regarding this app was at E3.
