Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2 Plus Slices Up The Vita On February 26

Let's say you missed out the first time around, when Ninja Gaiden Sigma Plus hit the Vita back when Sony's new portable launched in February.

Well, you will benefit from waiting, because according to Team Ninja's website , the enhanced version – Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2 Plus – will cut its way onto store shelves on February 26, 2013 in the US, and on March 1 in Europe (with the exception of France, which has a February 28 date).

This new Vita port includes fresh features, such as the option to switch between heroes in mid-battle, and the Ninja Race Mode. Plus, Ayane, Momiji, and Rachel will all have new costumes, and that's always a bonus, especially considering the…um…relative shape of the ladies in question. Granted, this is basically an upgraded port of a port, as Ninja Gaiden Sigma was first launched on the PS3, but it should still be a decent title for the Vita. I just wish they'd fix the camera a little and find a way to upgrade those dated visuals…

And by the way, Dead or Alive 5 Plus is set for March 19 for the Vita.

Don't feel bad, I gave up trying to play NG games, I'm not really gaming to show off my skills anymore and NG takes mad skills.

Hey, I think SIGMA 2 still looks pretty solid even now. The original Sigma has a dated feel because it was originally built on the first Xbox. I'm not suggesting Sigma 2 is a stunner, or ever was, but it's pleasing, pleasing and 60fps. A trade off over visual effects I'm usually always willing to have.

Anyhow, I tried Wii U in person for the first time yesterday at a Best Buy. I'm definitely in no hurry to get one of those until it gets at least 5 games worth playing and a cost that isn't $350. I played the pleasant looking and colorful Rayman game. I was having mild fun until the game made me do some retarded crap on the touch screen that felt very unnecessary. I rolled my eyes and said "whatever" and placed the giant tablet down and walked away. Sorry, as far as I'm concerned an interface SHOULD be as "not there" as possible. A game pad is the closest thing to a mind to game link. I don't want to do menial tasks on a different screen that I could just as well do on a pad.

Anyway, the Vita is chalking up a decent selection of software I'm interested in. Between Team Ninja's offerings, some solid racers and the promise of some quality IP's by Sony, Vita is next on my list.

Does the Wii U tablet feel like a toy?

Nah, I think it was built well and feels solid enough, definitely not the cheap hollow feel of the original PS3 Six-axis. I assume Nintendo knows they'd have a big warranty issue on their hands if they didn't build their controller as durable as a handheld.

I overheard the Best Buy employee trying to pitch the console to a family. He really tried emphasizing it's "hardcore" appeal with games like AC3 and CoD on a platform that's MORE powerful than the PS3 and 360.
I'm thinking, man, you're so naive. One year from now the hardcore will ditch this for either Sony or MS, or both, and with it all of the most exciting best experiences offered by those franchises. Do people not see past their noses sometimes? I feel this effort of Nintendo's to appeal to the hardcore is folly and destined for a big "hit it and and quit it" response as soon as the big daddies strut their stuff on much more powerful hardware. And really, with Wii U at $350 the price gap shouldnt be so large this time.

Never played a Ninja Gaiden Sigma game. Looks like I will be trying this soon. I would love to get NG1 free from PS+! That would be truly nice! I am eager to see what all the difficulty talk is about.

Hey, the release date so happens to be my birthday.. (Think Temjin, you can use this fact to your advantage to persuade a purchase…..)

Anyway, I went back and read Arnold's review, well the first several paragraphs. hehe oh man, Journey(the music band) and NG together in the same piece. Wow. hehe wow. Anyway, Arnold.. hey, no plot holes from the omission of the plot'less tunnel worm or the two or three winged beasts. Something you do fight one of eventually anyway…

Minor correction: Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2 Plus would be compared to Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2 (the console version), not Ninja Gaiden Sigma Plus, which is the prequel, and a totally different game, whihc is still worth getting. Yes, it has been remade 2 times over (and only 30fps presumably for conserving battery), but b/c of that, and the fact it comes from a time when development cycles were much longer, you won't find a full blown single player experience like it, especially on the go.
