Ubisoft Working On Patch For Liberation’s Save Corruption Bug

By now, you've probably heard of that nasty – and annoying – save corruption bug in Assassin's Creed III: Liberation .

Basically, it totally messes with your save file(s) in the game, and that's obviously a pretty huge problem 'cuz the adventure is quite lengthy. However, the good news is that according to Joystiq , Ubisoft is currently working on a fix-it patch. Let's hope it arrives soon!

There are quite a few irked gamers out there who experienced the save corruption problem when playing the anticipated Vita title. Even though we're not entirely sure when to expect the update, at least we know it's coming:

"Our team is in the process of finalizing the first patch for Assassin's Creed 3 Liberation. This will address the save game corruption issue that you asked about [previously]. We'll have a better idea on the timing of the patch soon."

Maybe when they do, you won't be so frightened to purchase the game. And if you're a Vita owner, despite the fact that Liberation didn't quite blow us away, it's still well worth playing. You should definitely give it a shot, or at least read more about it in our review .

People should never be afraid to buy games, for shame…

I better stop playing it until they fix it. I'm really enjoying it. It hasn't blown me away, but then again none of the AC games have. Sometimes I'm just in awe when I realize I'm playing such a game on a handheld.

So far I have not run into this problem. I may take a break just in case. The game is really good and I am having a lot of fun with it. So going through it again would be no chore which I will have to do anyways to get the Platinum. I didn't get fully synched on every main memory. It's good to hear they are still supporting it.

I haven't had any problems with Liberation… *knock on wood*. I'm not about to put it down and wait for a patch though. I'll just keep playing.

Unfortunately, as far as I know, there is still no way to backup your game saves on the Vita. Your only option is to backup the entire card… lame. Sony really really really needs to fix this. The PS3 and PSP have a perfect game save backup system so… wtf Vita?

I may have been wrong there… Sounds like PS Plus may have added the online save option for Vita. If so, cool beans! I only just downloaded the new firmware this morning so I haven't had a chance to check out the Plus features on Vita yet..

I've had this bug "bite" me, tragically; lost a good 20 hours or so of gameplay. If you're playing it, I would advise you to not collect all of the Assassin's Coins, Jeweled Brooches, or other persona specific collectibles. While a complete collection unlocks pretty rad costumes, it would seem this might be a trigger for the bug. I've searched the Ubisoft tech support forums, and many users seem to report the same thing. Great game up to that point, though…

I have one quick question for you Mr.Highlander. Just out of curiosity how much would it take to build a PS4 or buy a computer that has around the same specs? Take out any other factor like Sony getting parts cheap because it gets a lot of them.
