You've got the PlayStation Vita picking up some much-needed steam with a few big titles this holiday season, and you just announced three new PlayStation 3 models. And in an unsurprising bit of news, Sony says that "just about all" of Vita owners also have the PS3.
Well, now they should try to bring all new fans into the PlayStation fold. Given the connectivity between the two units and the sheer amount of software and technical capability, putting both the Vita and PS3 in the same box would be unassailably awesome in every possible sense. Toss in one game each – maybe Uncharted 3: Drake's Deception for the PS3 and Uncharted: Golden Abyss for the Vita as one cohesive theme – and you've got an extremely appealing package for gamers.
But perhaps that would prove too pricey…maybe they can wait a little while until the PS3 comes down in price and the Vita has a price drop, too. Putting the two together now would result in a price tag of around $500, and that would still be a deal. But I've seen a great many hardcore gaming fans buy such expensive bundles when it involves a game that they really want, and if we're talking about two pieces of hardware that will play thousands of games, including the latest and greatest portable technology; well, that might be pretty attractive. It's all in how you look at things, really. What is "value" to you? To me, this would be worth it.
It won't happen for the holiday season, obviously, but this is something I'd like to see in 2013.
Bundle them with both ACIII games and we have a winner.
I honestly believe that Sony really missed the mark with the new Super slim Ps3. If they offer the console cheaper they could easily bundle it with a ps vita and a game that has cross play compatability. This would have helped compete with the Wii U. They could have at least offer the 12gb PS3 with a PS Vita 8gb card and Playstation all stars… I would have bought this in a heart beat.
if the price was right, and they throw in a decent memory card, booya!, I'd be all over that.
Is Vita considered HD?
from what i understand is that it is 960 x 544 which is below the standard 720 mark. but since it is a 5 inch screen with that resolution, when we hold it a certain distance away from our face it has the same effect as hd.
having one myself i will tell you that the screen is brilliant.
The screen is qHD (quarter High Definition)

There should be a Ultimate MGS bundle after or around the time of MGR.
PS3 250GB with Wifi PS Vita & 32GB memory card, MGS4, MGS HD Collection PS3, download voucher for Vita MGS HD Collection, download voucher for PS1 MGS. Have a nice matte dark green PS3 with the "Fox Hound" patch design on the slide cover. Have a matching color Vita and have on the rear touch the "Fox Unit (Kojima Productions logo)" in place of the Circle, X, Square, and Triangle.
Edit: The HD Collection has the cross-save feature for MGS2 & 3 and now with PS1 games being playable now you can have a nice collection on the Vita wherever you go.

I dunno… Do many really need both?
If I were to put myself in a similar situation. considering getting me a 3DS I'd not want it bundled with a Wii?
I think it's a better idea to keep bundling them with each their relevant games and accessories.
Beamboom makes a good point. But I would like to see an easy to understand and marketed discount if a consumer buys one. something that would give them the option.
The only way the Vita bundle will make sense is if Sony gets off their lazy butts and makes Vita remote play compatible with the PS3 library.
It's embarrassing as a Sony fanboy at how much they have changed what Vita was supposed to be since Vita was first announced.
It's like Peter Molyneux is working for Sony now!

as $ony said a large portion of vita owners already have a ps3, so offering a bundle would be a waste for a large majority.
is the rest, really a large enough number to warrant such a bundle?
I don't see a PS3/V Bundle on the horizon anytime soon. Sony simply does not want to cut price of the Vita because the true value is in the content and functionality. The Ultra Slim PS3 may see a cut hopefully by the holiday season but Vita will have too much momentum to consider a price change.
To me a "COMPELLING" and more realistic offer would be a PS4/VITA Bundle. Full Plus integration, Game Streaming? An ideal game would be PlayStation All Stars because it highlights so many PlayStation IPs and characters as well as 3rd party. Cross- Play. It also be included as digital only, eliminating cost for a disc. Yes, every penny counts.
I wonder what the gaming landscape will look like in a few years. It may seem completely alien to us.

I don't know, with the 1 year anniversary of Vita approaching, and the SuperSlim PS3 with Flash memory, I think that there is the potential to put together a $399 bundle of a 12GB Flash based PS3 and a PS Vita (Wi-fi) with 8GB of Flash. That price is not too far from realistic considering the cost of each device, and it would be a compelling offer if it arrived with a high profile title that supports cross controller support and possibly cross-play support or transfarring. The WiiU is going to make having a tablet controller a virtue, Sony already has a tablet controller – the Vita. Only Sony's Vita can operate on it's own unlike the WiiU tablet. If Sony can bring together a game that demonstrates this in a compelling manner, along with a PS3/Vita bundle, I think it could be a hot seller.
They could always offer a 160GB slim with a wifi model vita, include a 16GB memory stick for the vita and a copy of AC3 and AC3 Liberation, price it at $450 and I bet you'd sell quite a few.
They could, but that would sell at a loss for them.
Since I have a PS3 already. I'm going with the WiiU, loving the specs already.
If they'd give me the original 60gb PS3 which had PS2 backwards compatibility (sort of)…and the PS VITA – I'd be happy.
That ultra/super slim PS3 can go screw itself…what an ugly beast. Powerful – but ugly.
I've said all along that Sony should have offered two SKUs, one premium system with proper PS2 BC, a full compliment of USB ports and card reader, etc…and the other with the bare bones of a PS3 system. Now that would mean either the 12GB Flash model or a 500GB premium with all the bells and whistles. Unfortunately, Sony thought that no one would pay the premium price for the better system…fools.
