Now that's incentive.
Sony has decided to make the PlayStation Vita all the more appealing by announcing a cross-platform promotion that involves titles available on both the Vita and PlayStation 3.
It all starts with the upcoming PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale , which is now set for November 20. As revealed at Gamescom today, anybody who picks up the PS3 version of SuperBot's brawler will receive the Vita iteration for free . It's part of what Sony is calling their "Cross Buy" promotion, which will also include Ratchet & Clank: Full Frontal Assault and Sly Cooper: Thieves in Time . This should help to drive interest in Sony's new portable and above all else, what a deal what a steal!
So if you want to pick up two games for the price of one and beef up two of your libraries, you should probably take advantage. We'll let you know what other games end up as part of this Cross Buy promotion.

Wow, I'm a little overwhelmed, it has to be the first time in a few years I have heard of a company/developer not ripping us of (Just look at the DLC post we spoke on earlier..) This is starting to sound very appealing to me, at this rate I can see myself holding a Vita by the end of next year. I hope other distributors pick up on this 'Cross Buy' system but I cannot imagine them agreeing with it in reality…
Yea, I agree. Sony has finally given me a lot of reasons to own the Vita. This, the Killzone announcement, and Tearaway all got me very excited
Sony!!! What! Yes, you did go there didn't you! This is Sony saying We are sick of all the bad publicity! Very nice and classy Sony. This is the dream I wanted back when I heard about Cross-Play, saying "Wouldn't it be great if Sony did a BOGOF offer!" Thanks Sony and it's nice to see you are very serious about the Vita.
Not to mention the Cross-Controller option for these Cross-Play games! I am curious how they were able to Cross-Control LBP2 since it's not on the Vita. The "Rumor" was that you had to own both the PS3 and Vita games.
Cannot wait to read up on more Sony goodness over the next couple of months.
That's awesome, but they'll hafta do it for games I want to push me over the edge.
You are not really into Sly and Ratchet either?

nah
He is REALLY into COD, isn't that right World? hehehe
So awesome. I love Sony.
Wow, nice. Very, very nice. When I first got my copy of Portal 2 and saw that it included the PC version as well, I was very pleased. What would be really awesome is if somehow Ubisoft would give AC3 purchasers the vita game. I know it's not the same game. Maybe half price? C'mon Ubi, you know you want to.
FU** Yeah! *clears throat*… Excuse my latin.

Awesome! I heard rumors about this months ago. Glad to see they're true.
Nicely done Sony
Well the Mlb the show works great.
Two questions…
How much and give it to me!
Yea better not be over priced
Yah I just did this with Sound Shapes as you get both copies when you buy the game once. It definitely makes me a happy camper!
Great move! I was afraid I would have to wait to buy the Vita versions… Now I just can't wait 😀
Well played Sony, well played.
This is even more clever than a Vita price drop in my opinion, cause with this deal people start building a Vita library even without owning a Vita. So all of a sudden the Vita becomes more relevant.
Very simple, yet clever idea. I like it!
Something that I've been waiting for. Never saw the point of buying most games for 2 systems. I thought that all games that had cross play with the ps3/vita should have been set up this way to begin with. Otherwise the cross play feature seemed pointless. I'd never spend $100 to get 2 version of the same game just to have the cross play feature.
I'm a little disappointed that the other version is downloadable, but not surprised. Nevertheless, this is an idea that I could really get behind. I mean… free games, who's going to sneeze at that? I'm not really interested in PS All Stars atm (might change in the future), but Sly 4 and Ratchet: QForce are both very much in my sights. I wonder if the Vita version of QForce will be available at retail here, considering the PS3 version will be…
First I have to get a Vita, but I need one. Don't think I'll be able to go too long without a game 😉
I really like this idea. Eliminates that difficult decision of "Which version do I buy?". Don't worry about it, you get both!
The also did this with the new Foosball game recently.
so will this only be available on the store or will i be able to get this same deal in physical format?
As great as this is, there's still the HUGE problem of proprietary Vita memory cards being prohibitively expensive.
It'd be awesome if they'd just include both games in a store package for an extra $10 or something over the PS3 standalone copy. That's my dream anyway.
I'll definitely buy more if they do this!!
