7 Games In 3 Months For Those Seeking Quality And Variety

I'm a big fan of quality and variety in my entertainment, which is why I'm really looking forward to the next three months.

Normally, this isn't a period of time where a bunch of amazing titles hit store shelves, but it has shaped up that way in 2016.

And the best part is we've got a handful of hugely anticipated games that are very different from one another. There's the uber-challenging, super dark action/RPG Dark Souls III , which is slated to drop on April 12 and is bound to drain many, many hours from your schedule (well, provided you're a fan). At the same time, you've got the beautiful Ratchet and Clank remake for PlayStation 4, which might be a polar opposite when compared to DSIII. Insomnaic's colorful, accessible game is a third-person action/platformer with a completely different feel.

But that's really just a teaser for May, when we get the recently delayed Uncharted 4: A Thief's End , which doesn't compare to either of the two aforementioned titles. Nor does it really compare to Mirror's Edge Catalyst , the unique adventure that combines parkour acrobatics, platforming, combat, and even puzzle-solving. Oh, and let's not forget the outrageous, over-the-top Doom reboot , which is the only FPS on this list and is a throwback to the good ol' days of unbridled, unrealistic shooter craziness.

And if you really think about it, one of the lead-ins to all of this is yet another very different game, Tom Clancy's The Division , a tactical, multiplayer-oriented third-person shooter. I mean, even if you don't like all of these games and genres, you have to at least appreciate the sheer variety on display, don't you? Even sports fans get a nod when MLB 16: The Show drops at the end of this month. It's just awesome, plain and simple. Check out the vast array of interactive goodness on tap for the next few months:

I have yet to buy one single game this year. Street Fighter 5 was a gift and Dark Souls 3 will be another gift.

Dark Souls 3 will keep me busy for the rest of the year, I usually dedicate at least 250 to 300 hours in each entry (not counting Bloodborne)

Ratchet and Uncharted are the only two I want but they will have to wait until after Twilight Princess and Starfox.

How can Nintendo keep releasing the same games and have it keep working?

Because they're good. Besides there hasn't been a new console Starfox since N64.

I got the GameCube version of twilight princess. Apparently they didn't make a lot of copies of those. Got it specifically to stay away from waggle. I never wanted to play it that way. The difference with the two though is the maps in the GameCube version was a mirrored image of the Wii version.

As much as I liked the Zelda series, I don't think I'll play any of the old ones anymore. So much newer games I want to try. Although I finished uncharted 1 and 2. Almost at the end of 3 on the remastered versions. Such great games that I don't get tired of playing them.

Also uncharted 4 multiplayer stress test (beta) is up for download now to get ready for the weekend.

Doom and maybe Uncharted look like the only worthy ones.

The new R& C game looks really good. More of the same, but it feels about time to play that game again and a fantastic remake will be very welcome.

Also really looking forward to U4, Mirrors Edge and Doom. Looks like I'm buying a lot of games this year. Don't know if Ill have enough left over for VR. Hopefully I have a good summer this year and I can swing it all.

The only games I'm excited about this year are Mirrors Edge Catalyst, Dark Souls 3 and Deus Ex Mankind Divided.

Uncharted 4 looks great and I loved the series, thought it went down a notch with the third game but it was still a good game. I would have been happy for the series just to end there though. I will pick up U4 but I'm not really jumping up and down for it.

The Division will be a great game I'm sure. I'm a little wary with it being an Ubisoft game how it will perform at launch with it being an online game. Ubisoft are yet to release an online game that works at launch. Hopefully the beta (which I avoided so I could jump in fresh when the game comes out) has taught them some things and the launch will go smooth.

6 of the 7 look appealing. Mirrors Edge doesn't excite me one bit.

There's no way I could get to all those. So I will be narrowing it down to The division and Uncharted 4.

I hope Uncharted 4 is long. I want a great time consuming story!

I will probably pick: Uncharted 4 on day 1, Doom maybe down the road and for my kid: Ratchet & Clank Remake as a summer(birthday) gift.
