Valkyria Chronicles Remastered Confirmed For Spring In U.S.

When Valkyria Chronicles Remastered was announced for Japan , western fans were a little anxious…

Would the game break Japanese borders and if so, when?

Well, we got our answer today: Sega has confirmed that the updated version of the strategy classic will come to North America and Europe this spring.

The price will be $29.99/CA$44.99 (no price was announced for the European and UK territories) and for now, there's no exact date so we'll have to be happy with "Spring 2016." But North American gamers also get the option of a limited-run Squad 7 Armored Edition (pictured here); this special version boasts a unique case, though we're not sure what it'll cost just yet.

Valkyria Chronicles Remastered offers 1080p, 60 frames per second, both English and Japanese audio, all downloadable content, and Trophy support. And thanks to the press release today, we have the other features as well:

HD Canvas Graphics Engine: The stunning, painterly graphics return, but this time in 1080p/60fps high definition quality! Battles and cutscenes are conveyed like a vibrant tapestry in motion.

Blitz tactical battle system: Part overhead turn-based strategy, part RPG, and part real-time 3rd person shooter, the Blitz system is an innovative mechanic that makes battles simultaneously strategic and action-packed. Players will command and control their soldiers and tanks as they take on the Empire in 30 different battlefronts.

Memorable storyline: Set against the backdrop of a world war, Gunther, Alicia, Largo and the rest of the fierce members of Squad 7 fight for personal reasons in the name of freedom, and the hope against all odds of liberating Gallia from Empire control, all in the face of the terrible realities of war.

DLC Included: Besides the core game, Valkyria Chronicles Remastered includes all previously released DLC: Hard EX Mode, Edy's Mission, Selvaria's Mission, and Challenge of the Edy Detachment.

Now, the Japanese version also includes a demo of the upcoming sequel, Valkyria: Asure Revolution , but there was no mention of that for the western release. We'll just have to cross our fingers and hope. If you never played the original, you definitely missed out , so here's your chance to make things right!

This is one of PS3s gems. A Seriously under rated game, or at least under sold game.

I don't like strategy games, but this game hooked me hard.

Just to let people know. The ps3 demo for this game doesn't do the game justice. I hated that demo. When the game came out though, I don't know why I ended up buying it, but I loved it. I even bought the dlcs when those came out. Even after beating the game, I'm still buying it especially at this price. There was an anime of this game But the game is definitely much better. Really really great story.

Opposite for me. I played the demo ~20 times dreaming of the game coming over here.

I got it when I was 14 haha.

One of my Greatest of All Time. 60fps on PS yay.

Bought all DLC and only touched Edy's ones.
Bought on Steam, played 15 minutes to support.
Buying this and hoping all Trophies to prove myself a fan.

Yeah baby! VC is one of my favourite games of all time. Upgraded and with trophies! I'm a cheap bastard and I rarely ever say this, but Day 1 purchase for me. I might even pre-order it 🙂

I hope this sells really well. It would be magic if they could give us a localized console release of the PSP sequels too.
