If you remember, Far Cry 4 featured a cooperative mode called Guns for Hire. The game also offered a map editor and standard competitive multiplayer.
But the new upcoming entry, Far Cry Primal , has ditched co-op and in fact, multiplayer of any kind. Why?
Well, the developer has explained in the Steam forums, as reported by WCCF Tech :
"We are focusing entirely on creating the best possible Far Cry experience for our fans. Bringing the Stone Age to life and providing players with a strong gameplay experienced based off of the Far Cry legacy meant that we had to reinvent our core gameplay loop. This was definitely not a small undertaking. Our focus was on delivering this fantasy which required clear priorities for the team. Therefore, in the early stages of the project, we made the difficult choice of focusing our efforts on the single player experience. Looking forward to your thoughts once you get your hands on the game!"
I've got no problem whatsoever with this approach, though I'm willing to bet some gamers out there will be disappointed. Far Cry Primal is slated to hit PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on February 23; it'll land on PC in March.

Lame..Co-op would have made this game so fun 🙁
I think being alone will make the experience better. I'm sure cavemen at first were alone too till they got together.
They had small communities. I bet bringing down a Wooly with friends was a big deal. There should be a cave art minigame thing 🙂
I think they wanted this one out the door as an experiment ASAP due to finances. If it's successful I'd expect multiplayer in a sequel so people who like the idea should try to support it.
