Ben-DutkaLast week, Square Enix asked a simple question: Do you want to see moogles return in Final Fantasy XV ?
Well, the Twitter poll gave the publisher a clear answer, and now boss man Hajime Tabata has confirmed that the cuddly mascot will indeed be featured in the upcoming new entry.
However, Tabata did make it clear that moogle won't play a huge role in the experience; rather, it'll be a "fun little FFXV extra."
"Hi Tabata here. Congrats Moogle! I’d like to thank everyone that voted. I will think of a fun little way to feature Moogles in #FFXV…Importantly, at this stage of development I will not be making a trade off with the other work remaining in order to fit them in…So it won’t be a very chatty Moogle, but will be done with a suitably light level of development work as a fun little #FFXV extra."
Well, that's to be expected. The developers are apparently too far along in the creation of the game to have moogles generate a big impact and besides, moogles have never been a focal point. They've basically always been "fun little extras," so really, I think the fans got what they wanted.
Final Fantasy XV should release some time next year for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC. Previously, Square Enix said to expect a finalized launch date in March 2015 .

Next year I'll be too busy playing Dark Souls 3 and Persona 5.
I wanted to play P5 but Im put off by the masks and that cat! I couldn't stand Teddy in P4.. P3 was awesome!
I'll never understand the obsession with Moogles.
Imagine where Terra would be without them!
Unfortunately Ive never played VI. I intend to play it one day hopefully Steam/PS4 will get a hd version. Several people have told me its good.
It is. The translation/dialogue writing doesn't do it any favours. (SNES version called them "fenix downs" for example)
But it's core is solid.
So they're basically an after thought?
If I was a Moogle, I'd be pissed!

Moogles are cool but they dont define a FF game. I would prefer some sort of black mage like costume (with hat and all), cactuar and Cid as an important NPC at least…..ok, maybe Im overreaching.
